“There is nothing more powerful than a girl with a wish.”
You might have seen a post the other day on our Facebook page with the above quotation and a picture of one of the young woman that is part of Trampled Rose. As the days go past, I keep coming back to that quote. It’s such an amazing — and true — statement. A girl with a wish is so incredibly powerful — full of hope, full of dreams, ready to conquer the world and realize their potential.
The sad truth, however, is that many women never get a chance to make their wishes turn into reality. Many factors stunt their growth before they get a chance to blossom and their wishes, sadly, wither on the vine.
That’s why Trampled Rose exists.
Trampled Rose believes that in every girl there lies a wish — a wish to pursue their dreams, to thrive, to receive an education. In Ethiopia, many of these wishes are things we take for granted; things like housing, food, basic education, health care, and clothing. These basic needs must be met. We believe every woman, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves a chance to reach their potential.
So we wanted to write and say thank you to all of you who have supported us along this journey. You have enabled us to touch so many women’s lives. Trampled Rose can continue to do our work because of the amazing contributions of so many who believe in our mission and believe in restoring the dignity and promise that many women in Ethiopia have had unjustly taken from them.
Thank you everyone, from the bottom of our hearts, for making Trampled Rose a possibility. Please continue to stand with us as we try to help girl’s make their wishes come true.
